End of the year

It's that time again. I cannot believe just how fast this year has gone by. I took a break from all things fitness and Martial Arts and am gearing up for a positive resurrection for 2009 including new training material and dedicating myself to losing the weight I have gained over the last few years after my knee surgeries. I will be chronicling this transformation in this blog. Time is ticking away and I will be 53 years old in March so now is as good a time as any to make this a reality.

Hope all is well with you and that your training has been from the heart.

Take care. I'll see you very soon.

Until next time,

Sensei Tim

What's new

Lots going on Thrill Seekers!

First of all...please go to my web site at Sierra Martial Arts & Fitness to check out what's new with our training and certifications! So much has transformed in the last few months and I will continue to update and post info as time allows. Suffice it to say that these turn of events have created such a HUGE sense of freedom in how we train and teach.

A big thank you to Professor Paul C. Holley and his organizations for all his assistance to my children and me and for his dedication to and the advancement of the integrity of the Martial Arts. Also, another thank you goes out to Sensei Pasquale Albino for his contributions to and assistance with promulgating the arts throughout the years, as well as his assistance to my students and me. Both of these Martial Artists are definitely "forward thinkers" and great assets to the arts.

We will be developing DVD's of our system shortly and they will be available for distance training with an optional certification program available. More info will be available as the project moves forward. This would be a great package to pick up and use for people who home school their children and would like to involve their kids in something other than the traditional physical education curriculum or for someone who has always wanted to learn the martial arts but isn't comfortable in a group setting. The possibilities are endless.

OK gang...one last "thing". As the weather is heating up, please remember to stay hydrated not only when you are exerting energy but also when you are at rest. Heat exhaustion can creep up on you very quickly and once you feel "really thirsty"...it's too late. Lots of water & electrolyte replacement drinks such as Gatorade will help keep your body's core temperature in check during the summer months.

Stay strong...stay focused...train with purpose.

Until next time,

Sensei Tim

More Mona Vie News

OK gang...this has been an amazing 8 days! I have been on "da' juice"...no not THAT juice...the Mona Vie! I haven't really committed to anything until now and the jury is in! My knees and wrists haven't felt this good in 4 years!

Yeah...all you "cynics" and "nay-sayers" out there will just call it "coincidence" but I know better! I know my body and boy oh boy does it know me!

All I can say is, if you aren't using this juice...whats the hold up? You need to be consuming this NOW! 8 days and I feel this good...can't wait to see what's up after 1 month!

Nutrient dense...great tasting...good for you...

Drink it...Feel it...Share it...Mona Vie!

Until next time,

Sensei Tim

Hey there everyone...

Wanted to send some info your way in regards to the Mona Vie product I am using that I mentioned in my last blog. This is an amazing juice that has done wonders for me over the last week.

A while back I mentioned that I had undergone a few knee surgeries and to date, have not experienced the results that I had hoped for. Long story short, I had given up on ever having relief in my knees again.

I recently became a distributor for Mona Vie and one of my up-line gave me 2 bottles to "try out". Within this past week, the pain in my knees has begun to subside. Now, the results will vary and it isn't a guarantee to heal or cure anything that's wrong with you BUT...it also can't hurt you! Just the nutritional benefits alone are enough to take a couple of shots of this juice every day!

The best thing is, in order to have this in your system EVERY DAY, you DO NOT need to sign up as a distributor. I did because I am interested in the biz side of it BUT, you can just sign on as a consumer and you know what the best thing is about the sign up? IT'S FREE!!! You only pay for the product you use!

Anyway...go to my Personal Distributor Web Site and check it out. If you choose to sign up there are links on the site to help you do that. My Personal ID # is: 1156623. Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Oh yeah...PLEASE check out the AKPKF American Karate Federation web site to see what they have going on. We are closing in on the 2008 Virtual World Games. Don't know what that is? Click on the highlight and go to the web site and check it out! It is BRILLIANT!! Tell them I sent you!

Have a FANTASTIC weekend! Stay strong...stay focused...BE YOUR WORD!

Until next time,

Sensei Tim

Mother's Day

Hello fellow Martial Artists...especially those of you out there of the female persuasion with children...Happy Mother's Day!

I wanted to relay some news from the Sierra Martial Arts & Fitness front...I have been promoted to 5th Dan by Sensei Danny Hill, President of the American Karate Federation...AKPKF. My sincere thank you to Sensei Hill and the American Karate Federation for this honor. Now more than ever is a GREAT time to become a member of the AKPKF. It has never been easier to join as it is right now. Please go to their web site and check it out. If you decide to join...and you should...please tell them that I sent you and use my member number for your enrollment. It is:

AKPKF BB# 071021TG0001

This will allow them to track who, what, when, where, etc. and keep the records straight. Remember that all the "employees" who work there to bring this excellent opportunity to the globe are all volunteers. They do this out of the goodness of their hearts and to help promulgate the Martial Arts for all to experience and enjoy.

OK...now on to some nutrition and a great business opportunity. Have you ever heard of the acai berry? It is a small berry that grows in the wild in the Amazon Rain Forest and which has unbelievable nutritional benefits. The company is called Mona Vie. Check it out. The healing benefits from the stories I have heard and from the people I have seen using this juice has been nothing short of impressive. 2 oz. in the morning...2 oz. in the evening per day. That's it! No brainer.

OK...that's it from here thrill seekers!

Stay strong...stay focused...

Until next time,

Sensei Tim

New Training DVD's

Hey there gang...

Do me a favor and check out this web site from a guy by the name of Coal Akida. This guy has a set of trainnig DVD's out that are pretty intense. He calls it Fear No Punch Technology. Go to the site and watch the videos...taped live...pretty interesting. Let me know what you think of this.

Until next time,

Sensei Tim

After a long period of agonizing over the direction of my teaching and what the Martial Arts mean to me...I have come to the conclusion that in order for me to be able to move forward and to be able to genuinely contribute to the arts in a positive way, I have decided to work on my own "style" or system of self-defense called the SMA American Karate System of Self-Defense.

This system is a combination of all the "styles" I have learned over the years as well as what I will continue to learn as the years progress. I am truly excited about this endeavor. It has been a lot of work but something I feel will be a very rewarding experience for me as well as my students and others who are interested in a system of self-defense that will be easy to learn and even more importantly, easy to apply. As the Martial Arts are ever evolving, so too will this system evolve. This is a work in progress and will be updated as often as is needed with new ideas and material to keep up with the ever changing face of 21st Century combatives.

This system will also be available as a DVD package for home-study as well as reference material for current students. Check this blog as well as the Sierra Martial Arts web site for updates.

OK thrill seekers...that's it for now.

Stay strong...train from the heart.

Until next time,

Sensei Tim

Long time...

"Been away so long I hardly knew the place...gee it's good to be back home..."

OK gang...lots going on. Been revamping my training as well as working on a new Belt Ranking system based on combining what I know into one cohesive training system while eliminating the "useless" material that is just thrown in as filler. More to come.

Also been doing a lot of work with the American Karate Federation.

I would highly encourage anyone interested in a credible distance learning program in the martial arts to check them out. This is NOT a Diploma Mill!! You earn your rank! This program is not just about learning technique, but about training the body and mind as one. The physical training aspect of this program is awesome! Tell them I sent you.

Also, you should check out a piece of training equipment called the ROM.

Incredible piece of equipment. I am going to buy one to incorporate into my training. I tried this machine back in 1992 and it kicked my butt! Better machine today.

OK...that's it for now pleasure seekers! Keep training hard and never give up!

Until next time,

Sensei Tim
